Lawmakers Ask Civilians to "Be Patient"
TFG Military Offensive To Rid Somalia Of Al Shabaab Continues
03/14/2011

Somali’s parliamentarians called on civilians to be patient in the deadly clashes between rebel forces and Somali troops backed African Union peacekeeping forces.

A section of lawmakers promised to remove the hard-lines, Al-Shabaab linked with Al-Qaeda within few days to come.

“Let us now act in concert and we’ll sweep Al-Qaeda from Africa. Let them go back to Asia and the Middle East where I understand some of them come from,” Mohamed Ibrahim Habsad told Somalia Report. "I have great contempt for the authors of terrorism who attack children and unarmed civilians,” he added.

"I would like to tell you that Somalia is going through its most dangerous phase in recent times and we are asking for intensified efforts in order to set up an effective military strategy,” the MP added.

The promises come in recent days of clashes between Al-Shabaab and government forces that have killed dozens of people, mainly civilians.
